Things you can put on your video iPod
  • PPT - Use with projector in classroom for daily review.
  • Music (videos)
  • Discovery Educator Videos (United Streaming)
  • Video podcasts from iTunes (ABC news update, for instance)
  • iTunes has K12 free channel - look into it (Professional Development)
  • Other iTunes offerings for kids that are educational (phonics thing Eric found)
  • Rick Stevens Travel (iTunes)
  • Pixie
  • Windows Media files

Mechanics (hardware)
  • Setting on iPod (TV out - set to ask every time)
  • red, yellow, white connector on one end and connector to the bottom (Eric's also has a plug to the computer for recharging
  • Use remote to forward through video if you want
  • Must start with hand on iPod
  • Projector setting RGB worked at THS, it varies according to school set up
  • Getting content in there (Use iTunes)
    • Get stuff available (search educational podcasts)
    • iQuiz 99 cents download and create your own quizzes
    • Discovery Streaming - pick a clip
      • in handout Be sure to use QuickTime as your Media Type Selection and Setting on iPod (TV out - set to ask every time)
      • Check manually manage videos so it doesn't remove the ones that you have seen once already
      • Sync the class's iPods with the same iTunes
    • Flip video - Right click video and convert for iPod - WOW
    • Video conversion IMtoo (29.00) Eric found free ones Al uconvertit.com and zamzar (You Tube URL)
    • PowerPoint - save as jpg. Every Slide - creates folder you can drag into photo folder
    • Photos tab for syncing - Create a new folder called iPod photos and it will only get the ones you want, put subfolders inside, point your iPod to it
    • Lose transitions but you could use PHoto STory or movie maker instead and create a movie, convert to mv4 or mov4
